 Igigi (which I have not had the pleasure to visit YET) is a haven of beautiful rustic-chic style homeware.

At its best this style should be comfortable, unpretentious, sturdy, serene.
The key elements to the rustic-chic style are:

• EARTHY muted tones
• Use of natural surfaces such as WOOD, STONE, SLATE
• Exposed wooden beams
• Curvaceous lines in furniture reminiscent of another era
• PATTERNED soft furnishings
• Natural materials like LINEN, COTTON, BURLAP
• RATTAN baskets
• MATS, JUTE rugs instead of carpets
• Homespun details of a personal nature, embroidery framed, photographs used on walls

On a more vintage and chic side, the photos below sourced from the lovely blog Kasey Buick One girl talks also would fall into the rustic-chic category.

 Soothing shades and muted colours in earthy, greyish, beiges...light and bright. And lots of white in woodwork (window frames, skirting, cornices). A Gustavian armchair works wonderfully with the natural aged wood bench. I love the whole mix with the industrial trolley and the basket with dainty branches, it just come all together.          

Tonos suaves en la paleta de colores tierra, de los grises y beiges.....claros y luminosos y mucho blanco en molduras, contraventanas, etc. Un sillón de estilo Gustaviano convive perfectamente con el banco de madera pintada. Me encanta la mezcla existente con el carrito de metal y el cesto de mimbre.

Those silver decanter are just simply gorgeous.......

This week I've discovered the beautiful home of textile designer Fiona Douglas. 

Fiona started out studying painting at the Glasgow School of Art and in 2009 set up Bluebellgray, her textile business with beautiful watercolour linens, rugs and cushions. You can see more of Fi's beautiful work at her website.
